THE STUDIO PROGRAM

Thank you for reading our weekly newsletter for important information.

Board unanimously votes to place Blueprint funding measures on upcoming ballot

In front of a packed house, the Board voted to place both Blueprint funding measures - a bond for building investments and an override for programming investments - on the November ballot. Learn more, including what our school would receive

From the Classroom:

I was able to observe all Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms this week. I watched our first graders pick out key details from their read aloud stories. Our kindergarteners were practicing proper letter formation and practiced writing all the letters they knew. I’m so impressed with the way our students are engaging in their learning.

Tuesday Newsday Folders:

Teachers will send Tuesday Newsday folders home on Wednesday, Sept. 3rd this week because we do not have school on Tuesday, the 2nd.

From the Office:

Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school safe by saying goodbye to your child outside each morning. If you need to enter the building for any reason, you must check in at the front office and complete the Raptor check-in steps below.

  1. Sign our visitor’s log book

  2. Present your picture ID

  3. Obtain a visitors badge.

Once you have been scanned into the system at the office with your ID for the 24-25 school year, you may check yourself into the Raptor kiosk in our vestibule before entering the school.

Volunteer needed for Jiji the Penguin:

Parents, we are looking for someone to volunteer as Jiji the Penguin. The volunteer would need to be between 5’ 2” and 5’ 8” as our Jiji costume is tailored specifically for these measurements. We would need Jiji to be here on September 10th, from 11:45am - 2:30pm. If you would be willing to help us in this area, please contact the front office.

Attendance:

Every September Attendance Awareness Month takes place to spread awareness regarding why maintaining attendance in school and college is essential for academic success.

Please watch this video to learn how Attendance Matters in Adams County

THE STUDIO PROGRAM

FROM THE CLASSROOM:

On Tuesday our staff members participated in arts-integration professional learning. We had sessions about Defining Arts Integration, Reading Art as a Literacy, and Acting Right (theater-based classroom management strategies). Throughout the week many of our students learned about how to read art as a literacy. Students were looking for 9 things in a piece of art to help make meaning and deepen their understanding. We practiced looking at facial expression, focal point, gestures, clothing, setting, objects, quantity, size and color in art pieces.

FROM THE OFFICE:

  • If your child will be tardy or absent, please call the attendance line at 720-972-3632 prior to the start of school to report their absence.

  • Please do not hold the door open for anyone coming through the entrance. Although it may seem rude, it is for the safety of our school. Only school personnel should open doors for visitors. If someone is asking to be let in, direct them to the doorbell in the vestibule and office staff will assist them.

THE STUDIO PROGRAM

The Griffin Gallop is this Friday!

The Griffin Gallop is our school-wide fun run. All families are invited to come cheer on our kids during the color run Griffin Gallop this Friday 1-2:30pm. Families can meet us in the back field at 1pm.

We appreciate all of the donations and volunteers.

We have already earned over $25,000 and we are still hoping to make our goal of $55,000 this year. Remember all donations are tax deductible and help us fund:

  • The holiday Giving Tree for Studio School families in need

  • Cleo Parker Robinson dance week-long residency for all K-5 students

  • Field trips throughout the year

  • New recess equipment

Thank you for supporting The Studio School. We are so grateful for every penny that is donated to help our learning community.

Conferences

Parent/Teacher conferences are on Thursday, Oct. 3rd 3:00-7:30pm and Tuesday, October 8th 3:00-7:30pm. Classroom teachers will email out the sign up sheets on Monday Sept. 23rd at 3pm. To ensure parents get the same information and messaging, each student will have one time slot at conferences. If parents are in different houses, please choose a time that works best for both parents. Communicate with your teacher if you need an online conference.

Performance Schedule

Our Performing Arts teachers have worked hard to finalize all dates and times for this year’s performances. Here is our Performance Schedule ‘24-’25. We can’t wait to see all of our students shine on our stage this year!

From the Classroom:

3rd grade is in need of old newspapers, empty paper towel rolls, and empty toilet paper rolls. They will be using these to help create their masks for the upcoming Mask Parade in October. Please have your student bring them to the front office if you are able to help out. Thank you in advance.

ST Math Login

Our students can keep working on their ST Math at home.

In order to access ST Math from a non district device, you will need to:

  • Open a browser and/or click the link below

  • Go to myaccount.adams12.org

  • Enter your Username (Student ID number)

  • For Kindergarten and 1st Grade:

    • Select your two password pictures

  • For 2nd-5th Grade:

    • Enter your password

  • Once your Dashboard opens, scroll down to the ST Math logo and click on the picture of JiJi the Penguin.

Items at School

All toys need to be kept at home. We have seen slime, stuffies, fidgets and other toys have started to disrupt the learning environment here at school. Teachers will let you know if the class wins a special party when these items are allowed for that one day only. Please help us by making sure no toys or play items come to school.

Parking lot and drop off/pick up safety

Everyone, even adults, should only use the crosswalks when crossing the street during drop off and pick up.  Drivers, please pay special attention to crosswalks. Be extra vigilant in mornings and afternoons as we have many kids and families trying to safely cross the street.

MT Dance and Improv

We are looking for a community member or organization to come help us with MT Dance (Musical Theatre Dance) or Improv clubs after or before school. Please reach out to the office if you or someone you know is interested.

School Accountability Committee (SAC)

The SAC serves in an advisory role to the school Principal. Each school is responsible for establishing a SAC, which should consist of at least the following seven members:

  • The principal of the school or the principal’s designee;

  • One teacher who provides instruction in the school;

  • Three parents of students enrolled in the school;

  • One adult member of an organization of parents, teachers, and students recognized by the school; and

  • One person from the community.

Please e-mail Chelsea Hickman at hic013694@adams12.org if you would like to serve on our SAC this year. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, Oct. 10th after the PTO meeting at about 4pm.
